Many assume that China is about to experience an epidemic of some of the health issues that have been exploding in the developed world. Diseases associated with sedentary lifestyles and unhealthy diets like obesity and diabetes were increasing rapidly in China at the turn of the millennium. However, massive enthusiasm for healthy lifestyles and fitness activity has swept across the nation, especially over the last decade, possibly changing the direction of China’s erstwhile obese and diabetic destiny.
