We have designed a robust research process that shares more similarities with research processes of large fast moving consumer goods companies than it does with those of conventional fund managers.
Since 2010(1) we have conducted over 27 research trips to 15 countries. We take time to immerse ourselves in the homes and workplaces of people in emerging countries, where lifestyles are changing, often quickly and profoundly. We call this part of the research process "immersions."
We combine the insights from our immersions with disciplined rigour as we evaluate risk, financial returns and cash flow. As a result, we believe that we have a truly differentiated approach which reveals genuine opportunities for investment in growth.
