Investment Week: Sustainable Investment Awards

We are pleased to have won the Best Sustainable Investment Engagement Group Initiative Award for our collaborative engagement with Alsea and Fundación Alsea.

The engagement has delivered systemic change through measurable outcomes. Its findings spurred a pioneering employment program for young women from rural areas, developed with Fundación Alsea, Vips, and Villa de las Niñas charity. By prioritising flexibility, community, and structured support, the program overcame legal/logistical barriers to integrate vulnerable youth into formal work. 44 young women from marginalised rural communities have been onboarded in the first five months with high satisfaction rates.

The pilot's innovative design—addressing legal documentation, financial needs, and career development—set a new standard for inclusive hiring. Its success is driving expansion across other Alsea brands and partnerships with NGOs to serve new marginalised groups such as single mothers and refugees.

Beyond immediate results, the initiative marks a strategic shift from temporary aid to sustainable empowerment through employability. It provides a replicable model grounded in ethnographic insight and shared values, illustrating how investors can reshape employment systems to be more inclusive, resilient, and community-driven, by creating new knowledge that changes management’s existing perspectives.
